Our Story
Where good fortune begins: in the soil, the seasons and the people who bring Bahati Artisan Fibre Co. to life.Â
The Origins of Good Fortune
Bahati Artisan Fibre Co. grew from a calling; a quiet pull toward the land, toward a life shaped by animals, seasons and the rhythms of nature. What started as a humble family farm in Potchefstroom has grown into a place of purpose: a space where fibres flourish, skills are honed and prosperity is cultivated with intention. From our first 100 goats to the nearly 900 we care for today; every step of our journey has been grounded in integrity. We tend to the land. We nurture our animals. We honour the people and processes that help bring each fibre, each thread and each woven piece to life. We believe that true prosperity is shared. It is built with community and it lasts when it’s rooted in the earth.Â

A Legacy Woven from the Land
Our farm is the heart of Bahati.
The soil that sustains our crops. The fields our goats roam. The fibre that grows in sunlight, not factories.Â
Every blanket, throw or woven piece begins here, with fibres shaped by nature, harvested with care and refined through generations of craft and agricultural knowledge. We work within a circular, collaborative economy, bringing together farmers, artisans, designers and young creators who represent the future of South African textiles. Through ethical farming and thoughtful production, we honour the land and uplift the people who depend on it.Â
This isn’t mass production. This is meaning made by hand.
Youth & Community
Craft with Purpose, Community at Heart
At Bahati Artisan Fibre Co., we believe that good fortune grows when it’s shared, especially with those who will shape the future of our fibre, textile and agricultural industries. That’s why we invest deeply in opportunities for young people to learn, explore and build meaningful careers rooted in land, craft and community. Our youth programmes are not add-ons. They are a core part of who we are and why we exist.Â
Bahati exists to uplift. To empower. To create pathways, not just products.Â
